William 3.Lord Graham was created Earl of Montrose on 3-3-1505, James Graham, 5.Earl of Montrose (1612-1660) was created Marquess of Montrose on 6-5-1644 and finally James Graham, 4.Marquess of Montrose (+ 1742) was created Duke of Montrose on 24-4-1707 in the Peerage of Scotland.
