COLLOREDO-MANNSFELD

The first known ancestor would be Liabordo v. Waldsee, who moved from Swabia to Italy and was given the castle Mels in 1031 by the Patriarch of Aquileja. A descendant built the castle Colloredo in 1302. The brothers Ludwig and Lelius v. Colloredo became Reichsfreiherren on 19-3-1588 and the brothers Rudolf and Hieronymus Reichsgraf on 10-5-1629. Rudolf Josef (1706-1788) became member of the Swabian Reichsgrafenkollegium as a Personalist in 1737 and was created Reichsfürst on 29-12-1763. His son Franz Gundaccar married in 1771 Maria Isabella Gräfin v. Mansfeld, daughter and heiress of the Reichsfürst v. Fondi (created 1715) and on 26-2-1789 the name was combined to Colloredo-Mannsfeld. Franz Gundaccar bought in 1803 the immediate county of Rieneck from Graf Nostitz-Rieneck and in 1804 Limpurg-Speckfeld. Both were mediatised in 1806.
